Our Programs
Every VHU program exists for one reason: to serve veterans and active-duty service members through hockey.
Tournament Participation
VHU fields teams and competes in multiple tournaments across the United States — from local regional tournaments to national competitions like the annual Armed Services Hockey Association (ASHA) tournaments on Memorial Day and Veterans Day weekends.
- â–¸Regional and national tournament participation
- â–¸Open to veterans and active-duty of all skill levels
Charity Games
VHU competes in several charity games throughout the year to raise funds for veteran causes and bring communities together on and off the ice. From playing against local teams and other military teams to facing off against semi-pro teams, these events are more than just fundraisers — they are community builders.
- â–¸Funds directed to VHU programs and partner veteran organizations
- â–¸Open to players of all skill levels
- â–¸Family-friendly viewing and community atmosphere
Beyond The Ice
Our mission goes beyond the game. VHU is committed to the mental well-being of our teammates — creating a network where active-duty service members and veterans support each other on the ice and long after the final whistle.
- â–¸Helping our members find new places to play if they move to new locations
- â–¸A focus on mental well-being for teammates and their families
- ▸Veterans supporting veterans — in life, on the ice, and during transitions
